Background
Despite international efforts to better control hazardous waste movements, policies and technologies for hazardous waste treatment are yet to be improved
In particular, hazardous waste treatment is more challenging in a post-war Iraq. In order to ensure safe drinking water supply and public health in Iraq, appropriate hazardous waste management is urgently needed
Korea has accumulated experiences in the area of waste management as the country has had to address serious waste issues caused by its high population density. It is expected that Korea’s advanced policies and technologies in Hazardous Waste Management will help set the basic direction of waste management policies in Iraq
Objectives
To improve professionalism of related government officials by letting them obtain hazardous waste treatment technologies and management methods and to enhance hazardous waste treatment technologies of Iraq
To contribute to post-war economic development of Iraq, safe drinking water supply and public health through stable treatment of hazardous wastes
